Our inaugural Open Day was a resounding success. A total of 54 owners and family members arrived and shared the beautiful sunny day with us.
Some of our ‘in work’ horses were paraded with Shaun giving a commentary on each horse’s history and future racing possibilities.
Bendigo Equine Group principal, Sarah Jalim, gave an extremely informative lecture on ‘Shin Soreness in Thoroughbred Race Horses’ and many people commented that it was the first time they actually understood what causes this annoying and frustrating condition.
The sunny day, a great barbeque and plenty of liquid resfreshments ensured that day was a hit, with many people asking when the next Open Day would be and all commenting on how much they enjoyed the day overall.
We are planning the next Open Day (possibly close to Christmas) and I will email everyone as soon as we nail the date.
