The weather God was kind to us and our Open Day was a big success with about 60 people coming to have a look at t he stables and the horses. All the available yearlings were paraded and we are please to say that the Big Brown filly is now sold.
There was a lot of interest in the Lucas Cranach filly and colt and Malcolm Boyd, owner of Bullarook Stud where Lucas Cranach stands, gave a very informative talk on the stallion and his history. Lucas Cranach ran 5th in the Caulfield Cup on debut in Australia for Lee Freedman and then ran an eye catching 3rd in the Melbourne Cup. Staying ability and stamina were Lucas Cranach’s trademarks before injury bought a premature end to his career after he trounced a field of Group 1 winners in the Peter Young Stakes at his final start.
