Lucky owner Gary Wilkinson with the Lucas Cranach filly. Gary won a 5% share and 18 months training fee’s for submitting an entry form at the bet365 Golden Mile Raceday at Bendigo Jockey Club yesterday.
Gary, who said he has never won anything (ever!) nearly missed out as winners were required to be on course for the draw. After failing to contact him on his mobile phone and repeated announcements over the PA system were to no avail Gary eventually replied to a text stating that he must contact us by 4.30pm or we would redraw the ticket. Gary replied at 4.31 and arrived at the Ascot room a few seconds later to claim his prize.
