Mercurial emerging stayer Star Darci again showed us a touch of his potential brilliance by winning the Murray Mallee Winter Staying Series Final at Swan Hill today.
Settling at the rear of the field jockey, Jackie Beriman, rode a patient race and at the 600m mark was still 7 lengths from the leader. She rode for luck and stuck to the rail coming round the turn getting a split at the 200m mark which Star Darci accelerated through winning stylishly by 1 1/4 lengths.
Owner Darryl Patterson was on course to accept the trophy and is pictured here with Shaun.
