Hay Now won at Flemington on New Years Day in a heart-stopping ‘flared nostril’ win from Set To Sparkle and favourite Lady Cromac. Jockey Liam Riordan rated the mare perfectly settling slightly better than midfield then making a timed run from the 300m to narrowly score. Previously racing in NSW the mare had a bleeding attack and was spelled before owner Graeme Anderson sent her to Bendigo. Shaun has had three horses for Anderson (including Scene Of The Crime and Riverina Rose) and has been successful with each one.
